As a spectator you were never really closer to it: With his #project360 the Swiss mountaineering supplier Mammut succeeded in reaching a real milestone.
With its athletes and employees and thanks to a specially developed camera backpack, #project360 opens up the third dimension of digital alpine cartography and lets users experience the myth of the most famous mountains up close on screen. Viewers can follow the mountaineers to the mountains of this world via computer or smartphone and choose their point of view independently. The resulting 360° images and films can be viewed on project360.mammut.ch and as an app for Android and iOS.
A series of „making of“ images has been created for the media work and documentation of the project. I captured the athletes climbing the north face of the Eiger, the Hörnligrat on the Matterhorn and the Patrouille des Glaciers. Some spectacular pictures were taken, which on the one hand make the great performance of the athletes tangible, on the other hand make you smile a little because of the rather strange looking backpack with construction…
